AES began construction on its first advanced, battery-based energy storage facility in continental Europe. The Netherlands Advancion^TM Energy Storage Array will provide 10 MW of interconnected energy storage, equivalent to 20 MW of flexible resource. The array is expected to begin operations by the end of 2015.
